The Northwest Council has programmed STP funds through federal fiscal year 2031*.

On Friday, January 30, the Northwest Council of Mayors Technical Committee approved a draft program for the 2026 Call For Projects. This draft plan will now be open for a 30 day public comment period, from January 30 to March 2. The program can be viewed below and any comments should be directed to Eric Czarnota, eczarnota@nwmc-cog.org. Project scoring documentation is available upon request.

Methodology

The Northwest Council of Mayors updated its STP project selection methodology in October 2025. The methodology document contains information on eligible phases, federal/local funding ratios, and program management.

The FY 2027 – 2031 Northwest STP-L Call For Projects will be open from October 31 to December 30.  A recording of the meeting and slides from the presentation.

To be eligible for STP or other federal funds, a road must be classified by the Federal Highway Administration as a collector or higher.
